LukeGuy App Privacy Policy
LukeGuy ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected when you use the LukeGuy app, how it is used and shared, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Google account information. When you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account ID, email address, and display name through Google's authentication services. We never receive or store your Google password.
- Profile information. The username you choose, and the username of anyone who referred you, if applicable.
- Game and activity data. Game scores, XP, leaderboard rankings, game session times, shares, referrals, and the dates you sign up and play.
- Mission submissions. If you submit a mission, the fan name and social media post link you enter, so we can review it.
- Notification data. If you allow notifications, a push notification token for your device. We check whether the app is running on a physical device in order to set up notifications.
- Information stored on your device. Settings such as sound on/off, your best scores, and a cached copy of your profile, kept in the app's local storage on your device.
How we use information
- Create and maintain your account and sign you in.
- Run the games, award XP, and show daily, weekly, and all-time leaderboards.
- Review mission submissions and award points for approved missions.
- Send notifications you have allowed, such as when a live show starts or a new product drops.
- Keep a private sign-up list (signup date, email address, username, sign-up source, and referrer) that we use to manage the community and contact members about the app.
- Prevent cheating and abuse, fix problems, improve the app, and provide support.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
What other users can see
Your username, XP, and leaderboard position are visible to other users of the app. Your email address is never shown to other users.
Service providers
We use the following services to run the app. They process information on our behalf under their own privacy policies:
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Functions, Hosting) — sign-in, data storage, scoring, and the web app.
- Google Sheets — the private sign-up list described above.
- Expo — delivering push notifications.
- Google Play — app distribution and updates.
The app may contain links to external websites, such as our store or social media. Once you leave the app, that website's privacy practices apply.
Data security
Information is sent over encrypted connections, and access to account and score data is restricted by authentication and server rules. No electronic storage or transmission system is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
Data retention and deletion
We keep your account information while your account is active. You can request deletion of your LukeGuy account and its associated personal information at any time by emailing luke@lukeguy.online from the email address on your account. We will delete your account, profile, scores, and sign-up list entry, except where we are required to keep information for legal reasons. Data stored only on your device is removed when you uninstall the app or clear its storage.
Children's privacy
The LukeGuy app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that a child under 13 has provided personal information, we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the app changes. Updates will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
